Pictured below is a steel bed, which is part of a new manufacturing site in Pakenham. Here concrete tilt slabs are manufactured using the aforementioned horizontal steel bed, where they are poured and then troweled off. Once set they are craned off the steel bed and loaded onto transport, and then shipped off to a construction site.
Concrete tilt slabs – preparation
Below is Luke grinding (bulking down) a slab that is going to be polished. This process takes off between 2mm to 4 mm off the entire surface of the area to be polished.
Once this stage is completed, we apply a filler to the entire surface to ensure that any imperfections are filled in.
